Monrovia Chamber of Commerce
The Monrovia Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer based non-profit corporation comprised of the businesses in this community. The Chamber of Commerce harnesses the tremendous potential of the private enterprise system and enables its membership to accomplish collectively what no one could do individually.
Founded in 1897 and incorporated in 1939, the Chamber continues to grow to meet the challenges of today’s business climate.
Today, Monrovia is known for its downtown that was redeveloped in the late 1980s. It stretches along Myrtle Avenue from Chestnut Avenue in the south to Foothill Boulevard in the north. And along the route are dozens of boutiques and shops and all varieties of restaurants in between, including Copper Still Grill, Moon Cat Ramen, Jake’s Roadhouse and Seasoning Alley.
Myrtle Avenue has not only been featured in dozens of movies and television shows over the years, but it hosts the extremely popular Friday night festival, which takes place weekly on (you guessed it) Friday nights, year-round and weather permitting. The festival is also something Samuel B. Ledwitz, president and managing partner of Bezaire, Ledwitz and Associates, loves to attend with his family when he is in the San Gabriel Valley. Samuel has prepared many estate plans for the citizens of Monrovia and is most helpful with probates as well.
In high school, Samuel was a CIF shot putter (Temple City) and enjoyed competing at Monrovia High School to see which track team would win the Rio Hondo League.
In addition, the city is home to dozens of charming craftsman and California bungalows, many of which are more than 100 years of age.

Estate Planning For Your Children – It’s Not Just About The Money
Most people near the age of majority do not have large estates (money or property) and many families assume that this means an estate plan is completely unnecessary. This is simply not true. A comprehensive estate plan does much more than protecting property from probate and directing the disposition of assets—estate plans also tell medical and financial institutions who is authorized to make decisions on your behalf. Without current, effective documents, these institutions may refuse to release medical information and will likely not allow family members to make healthcare decisions.
DOMA and Estate Planning
Recently the United States Supreme Court ruled on United States vs. Windsor—a case that argued the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). DOMA’s Section 3 controversially defined a “marriage,” for federal tax law and benefits, as only between one man...
