San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce
The San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce was incorporated on June 5th, 1948.
“We’ve been serving the business community of San Gabriel since 1913.
Our Board of Directors meets monthly to review the business plan of the Chamber and to ensure that our programs and services are in support of our mission.”
Samuel B. Ledwitz J.D., LLM, the President and Managing Partner of Bezaire, Ledwitz and Associates nearly grew up in San Gabriel. In fact, his postal code actually read “San Gabriel.”
Samuel moved to neighboring Temple City in the second grade, with his boyhood home being just a stone’s throw away from San Gabriel. Obviously, he would spend a great deal of time in the “City With a Mission.” He would spend much of his free time driving down the main street, Las Tunas Drive, shopping in the Mission District, and he would also like to visit the city’s main landmark, the San Gabriel Mission. The mission was one of the original 21 missions founded by Spanish colonists throughout the state of California.
In fact, Samuel even got to perform at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse when he was a senior in high school, giving a rendition of “Harry the Horse” in the musical “Guys and Dolls.” His performance went down in school lore and is still talked about to this day.
Another San Gabriel institution Samuel and his family and friends like to frequent is Clearman’s Galley. Clearman’s is renowned throughout the area for its chili burgers, dressings, cole slaw and cheese bread. Samuel can often be found taking a friend there when visiting. During high school Samuel and his friends would go to “the boat” and enjoy a chili burger, cheesy bread and the special cabbage salad that only locals know about.
